British Army - Convicted Criminals

Share |

If the standard strategy of denial and cover-up fail, and a British soldier is unfortunate enough to be convicted, the average amount of time he'll serve in prison is two years, and throughout that period he'll receive his full British Army pay, and after his release from prison he'll be reinstated back with his regiment, and frequently promoted.

Despite over 400 killings of unarmed men, women, and children in the north of Ireland only a handful of British soldiers have ever been found guilty of any crime, and this pattern is being repeated in Iraq and Afghanistan. The message is clear: from Bloody Sunday all the way through to British Army involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan - if you are a British Soldier you can kill unarmed civilians, and beat and torture prisoners to death and the British Army will do everything in its power to protect you from facing any criminal charges.
