Lt. Col. Derek Wilford "The Butcher of the Bogside" was the officer commanding the 1st Battalion of the Parachute Regiment in Derry on Bloody Sunday in 1972. Even after the findings of the Bloody Sunday enquiry, Wilford still refuses to apologise for his or his regiment's actions. Lt Col Wilford now lives in the village of Montignies-Lez-Lens, Hainaut, Belgium.
