Colonel Jorge Mendonca

Colonel Jorge "Trigger Happy" Mendonca encouraged his men to torture and abuse Iraqi prisoners.

Colonel Jorge Mendonca was charged with negligently performing a duty for failing to prevent the mistreatment of Iraqi prisoners. He was acquitted at a "whitewash" court martial in 2007. He was subsequently promoted to full colonel, but later resigned his commission after being informed by the British Army that they were being forced into holding further investigations into the torture and killing of Iraqi prisoners, and that subsequent criminal charges against him were possible.

Since leaving the British Army "Trigger Happy" Mendonca has taken up employment with Network Rail, and is working as Project Director on the Crossrail Project.
