Geoff Hoon MP was Secretary of State for Defence, and another corrupt MP who was sacked from his post with Nato, when he was implicated in the "cash for access" scandal. Hoon was further condemned by European MPs for evading questions about Britain's co-operation with the CIA's 'extraordinary rendition' programme.
Geoff Hoon was subsequently caught up in the MP's Expenses scandal, when it was revealed that he had built a property empire worth £1.7 million pounds, and that one of the properties was funded by the tax-payer despite receiving at that time rent-free housing at Admiralty House.
He finally announced he was to resign as MP when his attempt to topple Gordon Brown failed, and his local constituency party would no longer support him.
